The Troy Girls Basketball team picked up its first win of the 2026 calendar year on January 6, earning a gritty 40–37 victory over Warren Woods Tower. With the win, the Colts improved to 4–1 on the season. Troy showed composure and resilience in a tight contest, staying together and working as a unit on both ends of the floor to secure the win. The Colts embraced their style of play, controlled the tempo late, and made key plays when it mattered most. Offensively, Olivia Spangler led all scorers with 13 points, while Maci Zeiter added 10. Olivia Georges contributed 9 points, highlighting a balanced scoring effort that made it difficult for the opposition to focus on just one player. Carly Higginbotham played a vital role on both ends of the floor, coming up with timely rebounds and providing strong, disciplined defense in key moments. Beyond the stat sheet, the difference was the collective effort. The bench energy was outstanding, and every player contributed in meaningful ways—whether on the floor, on the defensive end, or in support of teammates. The win was a strong example of Troy basketball: connected, resilient, and team-first. The Colts will look to continue building momentum as the season progresses.
