Waterford, MI — Troy United secured the OAA White Division Championship Monday night with a 4–1 road victory over Lakes Area United, continuing an impressive mid-season run. Lakes Area United struck first in the opening period when their captain found the back of the net to take a 1–0 lead. Troy United responded quickly as alternate captain Ben Dumas (Athens High School) finished a feed from Matthew Van Raemdonck (Troy High School) to tie the game. Just one minute later, senior Tyler Jewell (THS) gave TU a 2–1 advantage, which they carried into the first intermission. Dumas added to the lead in the second period, ringing a shot off the post and in to make it 3–1. In the third period, Dumas completed his hat trick, scoring backdoor off a feed from Captain Joey Clark (THS) to seal the victory. Dumas was dominant throughout the night and earned Player of the Game honors. Troy United’s defense remained strong, shutting down Lakes Area scoring threats, while goaltender Noah Dumas (AHS) continued his outstanding season in net—helping extend the team’s winning streak and maintaining an impressive 1.44 goals-against average.
