The Troy Girls Basketball program returned to the win column in a big way on Friday, February 20, earning a program sweep over Harper Woods as all three levels battled through hard-fought games to secure victories. The night was highlighted by an unforgettable Varsity comeback win, as Troy showed resilience, toughness, and true team character on Senior Night. After trailing by as many as 17 points, the Colts refused to back down. Possession by possession, Troy chipped away at the deficit, relying on defensive intensity, composure, and collective effort to complete a thrilling three-point comeback victory — a true gutsy TEAM win. The evening also celebrated five outstanding seniors who have helped shape the program: Carly Higginbotham, Olivia Spangler, Olivia Jasniewicz, Srujana “SJ” Uppalapati, and Madison Williams. Each senior was honored for their dedication, leadership, and lasting impact on Troy Girls Basketball both on and off the court. On the floor, several players stepped up in key moments to lead the comeback effort: Sophomore guard Maci Zeiter led all scorers with 16 points AC added 12 points in a strong all-around performance Rachel Zapatka contributed 8 points, including a clutch basket late in the game that gave Troy the lead during the final stretch The energy in the gym reflected the resilience of the team and the strength of the entire program, as all three Troy teams secured wins to complete the sweep. The Colts return to action on Tuesday, February 24, for a special PINK OUT game. Fans are encouraged to wear pink and show support for Breast Cancer Awareness while cheering on Troy. The program will then host its final home games of the season on Friday against non-league opponent Lake Orion, closing out the regular season at home before heading into postseason play. With momentum building at the right time, Troy looks to carry this confidence forward into an exciting finish to the season. Go Colts!
