Troy High Dominates on Senior Night – A Perfect Day to Celebrate Our Seniors

By Laura Guzman | May 20, 2026 7:53 AM

It was a truly special evening at Troy High School as the Colts secured an impressive 10–4 victory over Royal Oak on Senior Night — a perfect way to honor a group of seniors who have poured so much into this program. From the first pitch to the final out, Troy showed resilience, energy, and complete team effort — everything this senior class represents. After Royal Oak struck first in the opening inning, Troy responded with determination. The momentum shifted in the second inning when Corley executed an aggressive steal of home, igniting the dugout and giving Troy the lead. That play set the tone for the rest of the night. The Colts broke things open in the third inning, capitalizing on disciplined at-bats and pressure offense. Troy plated four runs in the inning — taking advantage of a passed ball and clutch plate appearances by Higginbotham and Goldberger, who each drew bases-loaded walks to bring runs across. In the circle, Herron delivered a complete game performance, going all seven innings while allowing just four runs (only one earned). She scattered six hits, struck out three, and kept Troy composed in key moments — exactly the kind of leadership you want on Senior Night. At the plate, Troy’s offense was fueled by aggressive and smart hitting: King set the tone at the top of the lineup, going 3-for-4 Higginbotham contributed an RBI and reached base consistently The team showed incredible patience, drawing 9 total walks Higginbotham, Goldberger, and Corley each worked two walks apiece On the bases, Troy was relentless: 12 stolen bases as a team Higginbotham, Seestedt, and Corley each swiped multiple bags Constant pressure on the defense led to scoring opportunities and momentum shifts This was Troy softball at its best — aggressive, disciplined, and connected. But more importantly, tonight wasn’t just about the win. It was about celebrating a senior class that has: Led with heart and toughness. Set the standard for work ethic and team culture. Represented Troy with pride on and off the field. What a beautiful day and even better night to honor our seniors. From big plays to leadership moments, they’ve left a lasting legacy on this program — and this game was a reflection of everything they’ve built together.
